There are moments in life when we are brought to the edge facing a storm so fierce or an obstacle so impossible that we have only two choices: let fear consume us or step forward in faith.
I will never forget the moment when my sister and I were caught in a hurricane in the middle of the ocean. One minute, we were on a jet ski, enjoying the beauty of clear blue waters; the next, we were trapped in a raging storm, waves crashing over us, rain striking like needles, and no way to see the shore. The storm had overtaken us, and it seemed like we were about to be swallowed by the sea.
It was at that moment that I had to decide, would I give in to fear, or would I trust that God would make a way?
So I did the only thing I knew to do. I prayed. I cried out to the God who had parted the Red Sea, who had stopped the Jordan River, and who still had power over the waters today.
And then the impossible happened.
The waves that had been crashing over us stopped touching us. The rain that had been blinding us no longer struck our skin. The water in front of us became calm and a smooth path appeared where there had been none. Just like He did for the Israelites crossing the Jordan, God made a way through the storm, leading us safely back to shore.
This book is about that miracle but even more, it’s about the God who still parts the waters.
